The starting rotation for the Detroit Tigers is still going to be led by their ace Matthew Boyd and with addition of inning eater Ivan Nova hopefully the Tigers can take some pressure off of the bullpen.
Well, the time has come and we can finally have Opening Day here in Detroit. It’s been a long wait but we do now have baseball for the rest of the summer. The Detroit Tigers will start the season with a road series against the NL Central Cincinnati Reds.
The outfield for the Detroit Tigers will look very similar to last year with just one change in right field. JaCoby Jones will be the everyday center fielder, while left field will be anchored to Christin Stewart.
The Detroit Tigers will feature a group of new faces for the casual Tigers fan, as two of the top three were not in the organization last season. The catchers on the expanded rosters for this season include Austin Romine, Grayson Greiner, Eric Haase, and Jake Rogers.
The Detroit Tigers will enter the 2020 season with a new starting first baseman and a third baseman that has yet to reach his potential. C.J. Cron will anchor the first baseman position this season, while Jeimer Candelario will be at the hot corner.
The 2020 Detroit Tigers will feature a good combination of players that are both young and developing, and experienced with decent track records. The starting second baseman and shortstop will be Jonathan Schoop and Niko Goodrum respectively.
