University Of Purdue Football Preview- 5 Things To Know

Offensive Key To Success

The key to the offense will be the offensive line keeping Quarterback Elijah Sindelar clean and healthy. Purdue returns Sindelar and top play maker Rondale Moore which finished last year as the 11th best pass offense in the country. If Sindelar can stay healthy, Purdue can score with anybody in the country and sport a defense that is good enough to keep them in games. Rondale Moore will get his and with Coach Brohm back, Purdue will have one of the most explosive offenses in the Big Ten.

Defensive Key To Success

The Defense wasn’t great last season and in order to be successful this season the defensive line is going to have to get after it. While the defense accumulated 25 sacks, only 7 came from the defensive line. If the line can step it up, that will make the pass defense better and ultimately make the defense better.

Biggest Game Of The Season

The biggest game on the schedule is October 5th at Penn State. This game will be the first conference game that they won’t be favored in and will give us an idea what the offense can do against a stingy defense.

Breakout Player

Breakout player this season could be WR David Bell. With Rondale Moore receiving the extra attention from defenses, the rest of the team should see single coverage. Bell is a freshman but should be heavily involved in the game plan.

Prediction Time

Prediction for this team could be 9 wins all the way to 5 wins. This is a team that lacks consistency but is very talented. I’m going with 8 wins and another bowl game for the Boilermakers.
