2020 Detroit Lions Off-season Tracker

  • It is being reported that the Detroit Lions are signing New England Patriots Defensive Tackle Danny Shelton. The deal is reportedly a two-year deal worth $8 million. Shelton is an obvious replacement for departing Defensive Tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison, and will come at a significantly lower price.
  • The Detroit Lions have agreed to a three-year, $13.05 Million contract with Chase Daniels to become the backup Quarterback. Daniels who played for the rival Chicago Bears last season, will provide the Lions with a backup Quarterback who knows the role, and made a career of it.
  • The Detroit Lions have addressed their offensive line issues by signing Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai. The deal is reportedly a five-year deal worth $50 million. Vaitai will probably lock into the left tackle position and will be leaned on to sure up the shaky offensive line.
  • The Detroit Lions have agreed to a trade with the New England Patriots, in order to land Defensive Back Duron Harmon. No real details yet but it appears that the Lions and Patriots are swapping late round picks in the deal. Duron will fill a need in the secondary as the Lions try to improve the defense
  • The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with Linebacker Jaimie Collins of the New England Patriots on a three-year deal worth $30 million. Collins will fill a role in the depleted Linebacker room and is familiar with Coach Matt Patricia’s defensive scheme.
  • The Detroit Lions bolster the secondary again this off-season with the addition of Safety Jayron Kearse from the Minnesota Vikings. The deal is reportedly a one-year deal worth $2.75 Million. Kearse will add depth and could start this upcoming season.
  • The Detroit Lions once again add to the secondary with the addition of Cornerback Desmond Trufant from the Atlanta Falcons. A two-year, $21 million deal was reached and he should see plenty of playing time in the Lions secondary.
  • Cornerback Darius Slay got his trade request granted as he is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Detroit Lions will receive a third round and a fifth round pick in the 2020 draft as compensation.
